The second time I saw The Exorcist in the cinema- would have been in 1998- people were openly laughing at it. Sure it was a midnight screening and no doubt people were pished, but still. Whatever power that film had back in the day is largely gone now.
While I also find the 'torture porn' genre distasteful and wish it wasn't as successful as it is, I think Antichrist is far more interesting. And the talking fox kicked arse, though that is clearly a subjective opinion.
HArd to know what to say about the film. I want to say I enjoyed it, but it's the wrong word. It was a good film, but not one I'd desire to watch again any time soon. It looked, and sounded, magnificent though, and both actors were superb.
Saw this a few nights ago, thought it was total crap. I know a lot of people on here enjoyed it, but I guess I just didn't 'get' it.
I also didn't understand the ending, where the women with blurred out faces climbed up the hill towards him. What was that about?
err i still have this on my planner of recordings..too scared to watch it again cos of the bit at the cabin in the woods..not nice scenes and felt sick afterwards lol..This one was on film 4 extreme season..so yh it was extreme
