Confirmed by Samsung - Galaxy S3 has DC-HSPA+

See here: http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/sams...r-3g-50008007/

Those getting a S3 on O2 and Everything Everywhere should be getting excited (And all the other networks that plan to roll out DC-HSPA+ in the near future like 3 and VF)

That's excellent news and hopefully more phones will come out to support DC-HSPA+ hint hint iPhone 5!

unfortunately CNET now confirms that Samsung made a mistake . It seems only the LTE version supports DC-HSPA

So what handsets do actually support DC-HSPA?

I don't think any do apart from the new iPad which is hardly a handset.

Nokia Lumia 900 is the only one that gets mentioned.

Looks like the Nokia Lumia 900 supports DC-HSPA. I suspect most manufactures are giving DC-HSPA a miss this year. I doubt the roll out will be very fast anyway. Its hardly an incentive for networks to rush out coverage. Plus 4G 800Mhz will be on its way

CPW phoned me today and i'm set up on my upgrade with Everything Everywhere. Only disapointment was i lost my unlimited internet bolt on but 2gb should be enough.

On your phone H+ means HSPA+ which is speeds of upto 21mb/s.

DC-HSPA+ (DC is dual cell) allows two connections, effectively giving you twice the speed of "H+".

TBH most networks cap speeds on H+ so I don't really see the point of DC-H+ at the moment, investment in 4G is definetly the future IMO.

DC doubles up on the bandwidth giving up to 42Mbp.
If you get the full 42 then it is probably as fast as the 4G we will be getting.

One a side note, I wonder if 4G kill the battery in an hour or so. Or is that only 'technically rea'l 4G ?
To complicate matters they are selling DC-HSPA+ as 4G in the USA.

So the S3 has the same HSPA+ as the S2? That's good enough for me, thanks for the info!

Early LTE hardware was really bad for battery life but, by the time we get it here in the UK, it'll probably be onto 3rd-gen hardware and a lot of the battery issues will have been greatly reduced.
Even 2nd-gen LTE hardware like the Qualcomm Krait SoCs are far more power efficient than older LTE handsets.

Also, as you point out, '4G' is a ridiculously vague term nowadays - you're better off using 'LTE', far less confusing.
