Another dance film that's definitely not on DVD and has only been on TV once (I think) is "Dancers" - it's basically Mikhail Baryshnikov's film of his production of Giselle with a really naff plot woven around it. I'll happily watch Baryshnikov in anything though, so I have it on video.
This is going to sound extremely anoraky but I am 99% certain Dancers was premiered on terrestrial - BBC2 I think - over the Christmas 1991 period (I remember photographically from the Xmas TV Times film pages )
I've got a vague recollection it might have been on once or twice since then, but I'm sure actually that in the past month or so I noticed it listed on one of the obscure satellite channels (Sony TV or similar), so that may be worth checking out.
They never show a few movies i used to rent on dvd back in the 80s. Monkey Shines / Warlock / They Live
Is Warlock the Julian Sands/Richard E Grant thing? It was shown on the Horror Channel a lot last year - like every couple of days for a two month period.

I think you're probably right about it being on TV in '91 (and its not anoraky at all!) - I still have it on video, taped from TV so it was probably then that I taped it. But I also bought the proper video from ebay a few years ago, as a back-up copy incase my original deteriorates too much. I so wish they'd bring it out on DVD, but I doubt it'll ever happen.
I don't have Sky, only Freeview so wouldn't have seen it on any of the satellite channels, but I'm pleased if it does pop up now and again. It's not actually that bad a film (if you like dance films), certainly no worse than the cheesy streetdance film that Diversity, Flawless etc were in a few years ago.:D
Ive not really noticed Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead on much, if at all.
I would of thought that would something that has appeal and might suit channel 5 or ITV2 weekend schedule. Its on YT, (at least it was a little while ago) but it would be nice to watch it on telle.

Yes thats the one. I think they made a follow up,not sure.
Good point actually, I cant remember the last time I actually see that on or hardly any of the others for that matter (bar the remake of course). Need to put them on more often or do an entire marathon of the lot.
Itv 4 show New Nightmare every now and then, no idea if they have rights to all the movies though.
There is a film that my Mum hired out years ago in 1998 from MVC, called 'Palookaville'. It was from 1995 and it was a crime comedy with William Forsythe and it is in a similar style to 'Welcome to Collingwood'. Has anyone else seen it?
I like that film, like the music in it too. Vincent Gallo is cool.
Happy Together - the Patrick Dempsey comedy. It's not on DVD either in the UK or US. I've got a recording of it from TV back in the 90s, but I'd be very surprised if it's been on since then.
Trojan War (1997) - Used to air on sky movies, not been aired for several years, not available on dvd, but pre-owned vhs is still available. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120376/combined
Josh and Sam (1993) - Another one from sky movies, from my youth. Haven't seen or heard about this in about 15 years. Not available on dvd or vhs. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107277/combined
The Wizard (1989) - The cult classic nintendo based movie with Fred Savage, featuring the first look of Super Mario bros 3 in a gaming contest, before it was released. Never, ever, seen on television these days - Not available on dvd, or vhs. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098663/combined

Used to love this film as a kid - it's actually available on USA netflix at the moment (if you know how to access it )
Good shout. I love this film and have very fond memories of watching it on Christmas Eve 1989 on its BBC1 premiere. I've seen it countless times on DVD and Blu-ray, but a look at the BFI's website shows that it's only been screened on TV 3 times since then...and the last time was 18 years ago!.

Great film! I too have searched for it, and cannot find it on dvd, but I did get a copy of Can't Buy Me Love.
Speedtrap-1970's film that starred Joe Don Baker and Tyne Daly. It was one of the first films I recorded from tv when I got my first VCR back in 1982. Saw it again in '87,both showings on ITV,never seen it listed since.
Also "Patrick",which starred Susan Penhaligon as a nurse caring for a patient (Patrick) with some very strange abilities......,don't think that's been on for a few years.
Not Seen the old Crack In The World on TV since the 90s however it is now on DVD and Blu Ray if in ported and looks very decent to for such a budget film.

Silent Running was on Film4 over Christmas, use viewfilm.net to keep an eye on forthcoming showings
Damn, was it? I missed it. I didn't watch any scheduled TV over Christmas, I was having a Buffy and Angel megawatchfest on DVD.
I'd also add 'The Lady Eve' which starred Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda. I haven't seen that in years.
'Spanking the Monkey' hasn't been shown in a while. Only remember it being shown on Moviedrome back in the mid 1990s on BBC 2.
Likewise with 'THX 1138', that got shown on Movidedrome in the 1990s on BBC 2.

You can get a manufacture-on-demand DVD from Warner Bros in the States. Awesome flick.

Does My Beautiful Laundrette ever show up?
