Looks like Paris Brown's Tweets have come back to haunt her.

Would your's cause you problems?

I'm sure mine would stop me becoming an MP.

Facebook has gone to pot - give it a year before it crumbles.
Twitter is for lonesum people who want to impress you with their exciting life's by constant updates.
Both are a waste of space and anyone foolish to advertise their life's to strangers is a fool.

You shouldn't give up on your dreams, go for it!

Thanks for the encouragement, but there are better people out there than me. The Greens got their first MP, I'm just glad to be 1 of the 100 monkeys that got her there. :)

Nah. I've got my privacy settings on.

Mind you, I rarely post stuff on Facebook anyway and even if I have, it's usually just boring in-jokes or criticising extreme right-wingers' writings.

I suppose that'll bar me from a job as an attention seeker, or, incidentally, a Youth Police Commissioner.

    Let's see:

Twitter - I don't use it that often.
Facebook - They'd have to be a friend before they can see what I post.
Forum - They'd have to discover my username first.

So I doubt I'd be prevented from getting a job on the basis of any of that triumvirate.

Yes, they probably would, but only because you spend so much time doing pointless stuff on the internet that you never get around to applying for a job or doing anything with your life.

Nope. I only post useless shite under a pseudonym that has no connection with my real name on sites that don't require real names to be used.

<-- like the one here on this here site :)

only if my job was to be the new village idiot.

people would see all the sense i make on the interweb and think "no chance would anyone buy this fella as an idiot with all the sense he makes, it's got no way of working so give the job to someone else."

That's another reason why I couldn't become an MP.

When I stood for Town Council, I tried to give a radio interview but I couldn't speak properly and kept umming and ering.

They could use it for the show in the end.

It would only be able to run as long as there was live feed. But it would be 15mins behind events.

I'm not sure it would stop me getting a job.

My Facebook probably makes me look more nutty than I actually am though.

No, because it's very difficult to find anything on (the real) me through a Google search. :)

I don't do FB and rarely post on Twitter (apart from tonight), I rather doubt it would be that which would affect my job prospects.

I don't do twitter or facebook.

    Too paranoid, and technologically fearful.

Is any one sad enough to create fake friends to make yourself look better to employers?

    e.g.
from @amate to @fizzbin: Yes mate you always worked too hard at that job, you must have been loved by the bosses

from @adifferentmate to @fizzbin: Yes, take it easy & stop working so hard, I know you like to be professional but you take it too far sometimes

    ;)
