in TV and Home Entertainment Technology #1
any one got this tv. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/r/EVOTEL+ELCD40USB+40%26quot%3B+Full+HD+LCD+TV/0_0_0/. i know its a matsui, but it seems to have a lot of specs for the price. usb recording looks good. any advice would be appreciated.

    The clue is in the price - it's a cheap crap price, and a cheap crap TV - specs are pretty meaningless.

    Add to that it's only got NICAM stereo, which is now obsolete in areas where DSO has taken place.

    No, it has Freeview, so wil have stereo sound via that, just as every other modern TV.

    The description for the TV says it features only NICAM for stereo sound, which is almost totally obsolete now,
    and nothing about other audio formats. Freeview stereo sound is PCM with MPEG Layer II compression.

    Only listing the older audio format for this TV is just the typical DSGI incompetence as per usual.
