    Hi folks,

    I left my radio on 87.6Mhz and could hear Chaine 3 from Algeria.

    I've just gone back to the radio, after watching TV in the other room, and found the RDS saying this -> "RVO VOOC"
    http://i1064.photobucket.com/albums/u379/brumlad36/100_3163.jpg Does anyone have an idea where this would have come from? All audio had gone when I discovered the RDS. Radio was still tuned to 87.6Mhz

    Cheers,

    Chris.

    I have had rds that does not make sense so it looks like it's corrupt text anyway I have just had CAD-100 (spain) and GESTIONA on 100.7 (spain).

    Yes Spanish on the lower part of the band here (just got back after going out) including a strong peak from RNE 5 ZA on 88.8.

    88.9 has several Balkan-sounding stations swapping and changing - it's a bit chaotic!

    Complete Madness!

    The FM band is overwhelmed by strong signals from France and Italy at the moment - top to bottom!

    Good DX!

    Bedlam!! Italy, Corsica, and even Turkey on 87.7. I had to leave it unattended from 09:30 to 12:45 and RDS logs galore. I'll have to sort it out when the opening fades.

    France (Corsica), Italy and Tunisia.

    90.7 RDS = RAI -> RADIO1 (Italy)
    91.3 RDS = RAI -> RADIO1 (Italy)
    92.0 RDS = RTL 102 5 (Italy)
    101.7 RDS = SHEMS FM (Tunisia - Djebel Bou-Kornine) - 8.3kW

    Bedlam is the word there's italians all over thee band now wiping out a lot of local stations.

    Both polarisations are active unlike the last opening when vertical seem to be predominant which i did find strange.

    Even real from wrexhan rhos on 88:00 and R 2 from winter hill (11 miles away) is being wiped out with italy coming over the top of them.

    This is the opening of the year.

    I heard the start of "Michael Kiwanuka - Home Again" on 88.2 a few minutes ago, but it faded out within a few seconds. Does anyone know what this could be? I'm in Merseyside and lots of stations are coming and going along the band, nothing particularly strong yet though.

    88.2 just came through again, but was back to static within seconds. Something on 87.8 too

    I am also in merseyside just I don't recall hearing that but I'll check the recordings later.

    I have just realised that the clock has gone 1 hour ahead and I am currently listening to R C L S vertical on and RCS on horizontal 88.6 completely wiping BBC R2 W/H.

    Still lots of Italy here with some Croatia and others. Had periods when it went quiet and I thought it was on its way out but it keeps coming back for more!

    Trying to do other things here so not logging at present.

    It's in Croatia - (wikipedia) - basically the southern half.

    So you got:

    The Isle Of Man stations are enhanced here (near Liverpool). Just listening to Shaun Tilley's retro chart years on 3FM 105.0 - Douglas frequency.
