So what do we think? I personally don't like the name, was expecting something far catchier than Daybreak. As for Daybreak Lorraine, that doesn't sound right at all. Can't believe people get paid to think these things up...

It sounds like a big budget action film rather than a TV breakfast show.

The last time the title Daybreak was used was back in 1983 and that was shortlived - not a good omen.
Having a new name, music, etc. sounds great - GMTV was a visual version of the Daily Express - but will it actually be any better? I doubt it - first look at the new presenters and they'll lose even more viewers.
ITV should have gone upmarket and serious to beat BBC and SKY to provide something different.

    Daybreakers? :D

It will be the beginning of the end for this show. The way Big Breakfast went.

Sounds like a sequel to a Steven Siegel movie?????

Lol... Are they trying to attract a whole new demographic of macho men to the show? If so I dont think it is going to work lol

    Uninspired name choice.

Ah well, I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover and all that so hopefully the show will be a success.

That's a tiny bit (and I mean, a tiny little bit) better than 'RI:SE'. And we all saw what happened to that...

Sounds like a straight to DVD knock-off vampire flick *daybreakers aside*.

Breakfast TV hasn't been the same since Zora Suleman went off our screens. That girl left a lasting impression :D

Hope they didn't pay an agency mega £s to come up with that name. The programme format sounds as if they are trying to duplicate the One Show at breakfast time.

Also, with all the changes why is Lorraine Kelly still there?

Daybreak is such a rubbish name. Why not stick with GMTV name that everyone knows, and just work on improving the content?

Because GMTV is an awful name automatically associated with an abhorrent television service.

Because in the minds of a lot of people GMTV = Dodgy fixed phone in's.

So when ITV took over/bought out the franchise, they rightly wanted to ditch the GMTV programme and create something new.

They should have had something like ITV Breakfast then...I know it's a bit boring, but it sounds better than Daybreak!

Ooo! Ooo! I know this one! :D

Quite why anybody would want ITV to copy the BBC's blandfast name I don't know.

Sounds like a cheap chocolate bar to me! ;)

For the first time in years, I think I will be defecting to BBC Breakfast.:p:D

I still think anything is better than Daybreak, even if a copy of BBC's breakfast show name. :D

I'm sure Lorraine will slip up and say 'welcome back to GMTV...' a lot of times during the first few weeks too!
