Basically are you a royalist? Do you like the royal family?
I was speaking to someone a few days ago and they said they don't like the queen at all. What do you think?

I don't mind them. So I can't really take part in the poll.

I am happy to keep them, better than another round of elections for a president.

Admire the Queen, certainly, and much of the pomp and ceremony that goes along with Royalty. However, I think that the Monarchy could probably do with being reformed and updated and maybe this will happen when the Queen is no longer with us.

The Royal family are leeches but having said that I think the younger ones (Wills, Harry and Kate) are more in touch with todays society.

Coming from a Republic I think having a monarchy is rather a disgusting thought...

I prefer them to the alternative,
but don't see them as anything special. Due to the fact that all the violence and pillaging that went on in the olden days, it might as well be Barbara Windsor on the throne rather than Lizzie Windsor.

I like having something flashy and ceremonial at the heart of the state, but I don't think very highly of the people that do it.

The idea that Royals are more popular when they're down with the commoners seems to belie what being Royal is supposed to be.

Whilst I agree with the principle, I am not that impressed with some individuals.

I am not talking about Her Majesty here

Love the Queen, and look forward to Charles putting the career politicians in their place.

I find William and Kate superficial and not very bright.

    As opposed to who?

    :D

They dont come across as dim to me like "some" do

Best they be next king and queen probably...Kates a very ambitious and calculating old soul, Will I suspect is not bothered either way, he is so laid back

As to the OP, not particularly fussed either way....we can do with them or without them, but they are for all intents and purposes just celebrities most of the time

she didn't really jump out of the helicopter at the olympics, no parasites required

The only one I like is Prince Philip, mainly because of his casual racist comments which are often amusing.

I much prefer them to the alternatives.

However, they vary in quality and likability as people.
