Another great couple of hours listening to the 1976 chart, especially hearing those skipped songs on POTP yesterday :)

So much good stuff from 40 to 21 I could have enjoyed another hour! I wish the rarely heard gem 'Fairytale' by Dana had been played today

I agree. Lovely to hear songs in full, full Top 20 played, and more.

I was going to listen to The Classic Countdown last week on our computer but the website was not working as it is undergoing a revamp, has anyone else notice this and how did you get round it also is it back up now?.
Maybe you could use software such as Tune-In or similar that plays the stream directly rather than have to go via the website. Perhaps set it up now.

seems like all this years shows are repeats from last year - so next weekend's show should be 1978

Chart of 2nd December 78, then.

What would the rest of the year be?

    well last year it was

    1st dec 2013 - 1978
    8th dec 2013 - 1982
    15th dec 2013 - 1975
no show on dec 22nd 2013(Christmas carols special aired ;-)
    29th dec 2013 - 1960

they might use new charts this december, but for most of this year it's been the same charts used as 2013

If those years are used, some good charts there leading up to Christmas :)

Thanks for that. Not a bad list of shows, that. Looking forward to 1960 most.

Its not easy to find their schedule on the web site.
Even when you find it, a pdf file comes up

Told ya so :) i'm hoping that in 2015 we either get some new charts or get a replacement show,it's gone downhill in quality since paul burnett took over from Daryl denham :) at the moment the switch radio chart show is better (sundays at 5pm ) http://www.switchradio.co.uk/

This 1978 chart is bloody brilliant! It's worth playing every year and I wouldn't get fed up hearing these songs ever! What a variety... Barron Knights, Patrick Juvet now Elkie Brooks :D

I wonder what happens? I mean the date 30th November has been said a fair few times so I guess Paul just re-records his shows. I like Paul as a presenter and hope he continues!

I'll check out Switch Radio if they do chart countdowns :)

Doesn't look like we're going to get 1982 tomorrow, or any chart countdown for that matter...

I just heard a promo for the 4-6pm slot tomorrow that was a look at the 'Thriller' album.

I wonder what has happened? Paul Burnett wasn't on air in his usual Saturday breakfast slot this morning either. I hope this isn't the end of a classic chart show completely on The Wireless 😢

Paul Burnett is still on the weekend schedule.

Paul Burnett is still on the weekend schedule.

Paul usually does breakfasts on Saturdays and Sundays, which is when he records the Classic Countdown I guess, but this morning it was a different show with Rob Jones & Susie Sharp, who I believe also said were back tomorrow?

Surely Rob Jones doesn't want to do live breakfasts 7 days a week? I've often wondered, but I get the feeling a lot of his weekday breakfasts may be live shows

What a shame. It'll be a shame to lose Paul Burnett and a shame to lose what was a great retro chart show.

Websites often don't update their presenter details very often.

As predicted, no chart. No Paul. :(

I hope it's only temporary. Sunday afternoons won't be the same without it!

If anyone from The Wireless reads this, why has this show been stopped so suddenly and without warning? There was no mention at the end of last week's show it was the last one

It'll be back - in early 2013 it stopped altogether but was brought back due to listeners letters

I begin to wonder if the station is closing down. There's no schedule on the Wireless page - not really anything much there.
