It's going to be an interesting time ahead.

I lived near Inverness for 6 years and don't know a single person who is going to vote yes. That said, with allowing 16 year olds to vote, they may get more support, who knows?

But just how independent are they going to be?

Totally as in a separate country or pick and chose the best bits of the UK and then do their own thing when they don't like what the UK is doing?

I don't think the referendum question makes any mention of leaving the UK. It's a complete farce. Why in the current conditions a state wouldn't want to have its own currency I find bewildering.

It's a disaster in my opinion it's not the border at Gretna that makes me Scottish it's the people and the culture the same for England and Wales.

...and if the vote is yes and they do eventually gain independence, then within 5 years they'll be back pleading and begging to be let back into the Union again.

Whatever the outcome, it will almost certainly be divisive in Scotland.

I'll be voting no on the simple premise that not enough is known about it.

Will the rest of the UK get a vote as to whether we should kick Scotland out of the union too?

I expect Sean Connery will. Him the Scottish bloke who wont live there and pay tax.

I think it's a bad thing. Even though it would be great for England.

Well, there was a comment made about a year ago about as the vote is effectively changing the union, then England, Wales and Northern Ireland should vote too.

The amusing part was the fear that Scotland could vote to remain, but be voted out by the other three, which would be embarrassing.

Maybe if Salmond actually had the balls to do it properly and become a republic I would vote yes. But he doesn't so I will vote no.
