Sorry- for those who don't want to listen to the whole interview, in a nutshell- he'd put money on Mary to go next week, with a back up bet on Paige.

He has always rated Matt as the best singer, but thinks One Direction will win because of the teen vote and Simon's backing.

Pleasure Monkey ;)- he's been doing it for easyodds.com since week 5 and his predictions have been spot on so far and the interviewer said if you'd followed his advice you'd be "quids ahead"!!

Nearly 12 minutes of good banter with some good observations thrown in.

Agreed, he's got some interesting observations and people can see for themselves he's not the bitter man he's portrayed as but a good humoured, down to earth bloke with a considered opinion.

(He's at 100-1 for the Christmas No.1 at the mo, but says you get better odds with Jedward who are 50-1, tho' he'd still put a sneaky fiver on himself cos they're doing a lot of promotion lol !!)

He said a toss up between Aiden and Paije I think.
Steve Brookstein, who was the first ever X Factor winner, got his new pundit role off to a flyer in his first X Factor Podcast by tipping TREYC to leave in the X Factor betting. And last week he suggested AIDEN GRIMSHAW could have a hard time - lo and behold, he went as well!

Ta. So he is pretty darn good then.
I wouldn't have guessed Aiden at all... :o
Good job I'm not a gambler.

Me neither... on both counts! The interviewer was impressed cos Aiden was 25/1 to win at the time!!

I didn't know Jedward were planning a Christmas release?

    It was interesting Pet
Not word for word but more or less

    He thinks
If a Matt/Rebecca win he dont hold much hope for them if signed to cowell (He rates them both)

Simon success is pop ie West Life, Boy Bands, tele tubbies, so there is only 1D he could manage
Steve's winner would be 1D, he dont rate them, but young with a young fan base who will hopefully support them for the next 10yrs or so

Asked about why he thought below had success

Will Young - was in the hands of Simon Fuller

Leona success -- in the hands of CLIVE DAVIS

He dont think Wagner has been in bottom 3 or else there would have been another double eviction before now

    Paige/Mary to go

You forgot to mention that he said Rebecca was the best last week.:)

He really is Tiggi- salt of the earth with a great sense of humour and who can take the proverbial out of himself as much as the next person.... i.e. when asked about his chances of being Christmas No.1 and saying "Bob Hope/ No hope" kinda thing! :)

If I remember rightly he didn't say Aiden would go last week but put his money on Paige but he did say he thought Aiden could be in trouble. But he was definately going with Paige. It is still there on the pod cast go and check

What Steve Brookstein may be missing is Simon's agenda to get rid of Dannii's acts at all costs and make Princess Cheryl the winner for the third year running. If the perfect plan does not reach a perfect conclusion then his act - 1st direction and Cheryl's act 2nd.
Otherwise I think Steve is well worth listening to.

I read somewhere there's got to be a double eviction soon else they'll run out of time before the final! Think Steve's just using a bit of common and a hunch!!
