Basically, from personal experiance it will be much easier to list launches/closures etc. (separated from each other) on a calender so it is clear what even is happening on which date. Users can add events/launches etc. and comment. The site is under development but thoughts are appreciated
I need to think (and would like feedback). Is it better to use prefixes for the platform? Or separate calenders for each provider (though it may get complex)?
I think what you have there is perfectly clear.
You could have separate calenders for events on different providers as well, but it's the channels that are starting, ending, or changing that are the most important thing.
The only advantage to having event calendars for each provider would be that people could then ignore the events that are not relevant to the providers they use, but I think a lot of people are interested in what happens with channels on all providers, if only for service comparison purposes.

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I think a calender view is generally clearer. I've also allowed anyone with a Cableturn account to add events and comment on events already created. I'll start adding more soon.
There's a news section there too, so I might add weekly roundups and other articles relating to the calender.
Oh dear!
I run a couple of websites and have multiple backups of them, but I guess the webmaster of that site wouldn't want to hear that at the moment!
Here are cached versions of some of main lists, the first one being Sky. They are all pretty up to date (though the Freeview one does not reflect yesterday's big retune). Not ideal as they cannot be edited but better than nothing
Who actually updated that site, it was a great resource?
I thought it was someone on digitalspy
I have an area it could sit on fairly cheaply if it helps.
What did all the database backend use in the background or can it be easily replicated?
I did most of the editing of the various EPG lists but was not involved with site creation or maintenance so do not have any of the data in a usable format. I have no idea how to turn the cached data in the links above into something that could be used on a website.
I have found another list at http://www.tvchannellists.com/List_of_Channels_on_Sky . It's more basic compared to the TV Live Wiki one. I also have a backup of the source code from the TV Live Wiki list I did a couple of months ago if anyone wants that.
The Wikitext for the Sky channel list is from 06/07/2014 and the others are unfortunately from 04/12/2013. Apologies I couldn't be bothered to make backups more often. I never expected TV Live Wiki to go so suddenly. Someone could update them and put them on TV Channel Lists.
I've just realised that a whole pile of the info relating to channel lists and also individual channels has disappeared from Wikipedia. I've struggled through this entire thread (with most of the links to various intermediate revival attempts no longer working).
I must have missed (in a very busy year personally) some major changes in Wikipedia. Was there a fundamental change in strategy on Wikipedia's part??? A whole pile of links to individual Wiki entries that I used to regularly monitor now don't exist.
I feel like Rip van Winkle, and have just wakened up to find that the world has changed.
Was there a seismic moment when all this started?
The world is falling apart... even the DS Forums have lost their former magic and interest.....
A big thanks from me to Aetnla for this work. You have used very advanced cache versions (possibly even the versions that existed when TV Live crashed) and as it's been a quiet couple of weeks the lists remain largely up to date. The fact that all columns are fully sortable makes these lists a big improvement on TV Live.
There are some updates needed (e.g. Channel 5/Viacom deal, Sky Movies Aliens/Showcase changes, local TV announcements) and I think the Sky entertainment list can be simplified by adding a separate list of manual tuning details. I will try to sort over the coming days if no one gets to it first.
It's sad to see that the TV Live Wiki has gone. Something which I'm not happy about, at all.
To be honest, I'm not even convinced it was deleted accidently. It doesn't usually just happen like that, with no fallback. The server didn't fail because it's shared hosting and other sites would've 'vanished'. Pointing fingers I suppose, isn't the answer.
I'm angry. Why? Simply because Channel wiki contributor's work has been lost, including my own. I shut Channel wiki down but ensured work was kept. This meant hours of archiving was done, ensuring nobody's interests and hard work was affected. This work has now gone.
As luck would have it, I do have a way of retrieving this valuable content from HTML, but it's going to take a long time. Aetnla's work is excellent, so a personal thank you.
Will Channel wiki return? Yes and No. Not in it's previous form. I've been working on a site for a while now, so definitely plan to get the wiki content over there. I've put a lot of effort, time and money into this site and make a personal promise to everyone (hence why I've been silent on here). The site includes a forum, and is still under development (www.cableturn.com). This is where the wiki pages WILL stay in the future. I don't brake promises.
I also personally promise to get EVERY damn channel list back to as they were. No matter how trivial. This forum has lost it's magic, something I too want to get back.
It will just take time. If anyone wants to contribute, let me know.
Comments
10.862 H is DVB-S2, 23.000, 3/4.
"54115" & "54125" (both showing ARQIVA MCR bars & tone) are both on Tp 76, 12.552 V
Also, "54125" is now carrying EPG data for 'Forces TV'.
I've been busy lately and am putting a lot of effort into getting a sortable calender ready.
A blank prototype can be seen here:

"6212" (Showing ID) on 11.876 H is for a SD service.
12.304 H is TP 31.
"50330" on 12.515 H is for a SD service.
12.522 V is TP 74.
Are others getting the same?
More here..... http://wiki.tv-live.org.uk/ looks like it's closed!

The http://www.tvchannellists.com/ seems pretty good... if it can be maintained.
