Recording something from Tivo box onto disc?

Posting in advice for more traffic.

I have a local news recording on my Tivo box from last summer that featured a friend of mine. Sadly she died this year. Her loved ones would like to have a copy of the interview, I'm the only person who recorded it.

What would be the simplest way for me to do that? Any help appreciated :)

This tells you pretty much all you need to know, and I think videoredo can burn a dvd without the need for other software.

edit on reading that again, step 4 is not necessary as videoredo can convert TiVo files itself

Those steps only apply to a US TiVo, the one supplied by Virgin Media (which I assume is what the OP has) is not compatible with the TiVo Desktop software.

On a VM TiVo you will need to connect a DVD recorder to the SCART socket of the TiVo and just play back the recording while recording on the DVD recorder.

if all else fails - record it from the TV onto a memory card via a digital camera
