Pc Dvd Sound Help Please

I need help. Every time i put a music cd in it works fine. However Every time I try and play a dvd the sound doesnt work properly. The sound is really distorted and choppy

    It takes quite a bitmore horse power to play a dvd. That being said any pc with anything has been able to play a dvd for ages now. Just how old is this system.

    Try a different program for playing DVDs. Download the free VLC Player and see if the same problem occurs.

    I have tried different programs. Still the same problem

    the system is about 5 years old.
