I wasnt sure which forum to put this in, but as I saw threads about LoveFilm and Netflix in this forum, I thought I would put this in here!!

USAs Red Box is also coming coming ove here, if it isnt already over here I am not sure!! You can find these DVD/Game rental " vending machines" everywhere in the USA - MacDonalds, Burger Kings, KFCs, Walmarts, grocery stores, gas stations, you name it!!

The beauty of this is that you dont have to register, just select what you want to rent on the touch screen then swipe your credit/debit card, then retrieve your discs from a slot at the side!! And then when you return them back, just slide the discs back through the same slot!!

This sounds like this service http://www.themoviebooth.com/

I think Tesco Extras do something similar too. Issue is the range of titles a machine can hold at any one time.

Here in Verwood, we used to have a Spar Convenience Store(It only lasted about 2 1/2 years, but thats another story!!!LOL), and there was a similar type of thing, except it had a touch screen computer keyboard type of thing and you had to register with a username and password first(trouble was I always used to forget mine!!:D:D) and then select what movies you wanted to rent!!

The trouble was, when you returned your movies back, you sometimes stood there for hours, because the laser in the slot had difficulty reading the barcode!!!:D:D

That website doesn't inspire much confidence, it looks like it was designed by a 10 year old. :(

The nice thing about redbox is you can return the dvds to any redbox, not just the one you got them from. Perfect for a road trip, where you can rent a dvd from one place and then return it in a city hundreds of miles away.

You can also go online and reserve a specific movie or game for a specific redbox kiosk, that way you're guaranteed to get it.

I just checked and it would cost me $2.18 to rent Modern Warfare 3 tonight. That's £1.35. I can even pre-reserve Skyrim, and it'll email me when my rental is available (since the game isn't out until the 11th)
