Channel 4 should definitely bring back their Friday night comedy block.

Even if they had repeats of The Simpsons in primetime, it would be better than what they've got at the moment. The Event isn't working on Fridays.

Gets my vote for today's most ironic thread title / post combo :)

OMG just looking at that 2004 lineup, most channels are terrible IMO, BUT that was when I used to watch Channel 4 ALL the time.
Blossom, Happy Days, Roseanne, Beavis & Butthead, late night music shows, I feel so nostalgic. :o

That schedule definitely isn't from 2004!

BBC News moved to 10pm in 2000, Home & Away moved to Five in 2001, Brookside was axed in 2003 and Roseanne finished in 1997.

On June 10 2004 Channel 4 were surely showing an eviction from evil Big Brother 5.

I think you're right, Blossom and Roseanne were on when I was much younger.

Perhaps this is from 1994, certainly not 2004, Channel 4 haven't shown Roseanne, Beavis & Butthead, Blossom or Home Improvement since the late 90's or very early 00's.

These naff comedian led chat shows are disappointing compared to Johnathan Ross' old show. I rarely watch ITV1, but will be keen to see his return - not sure if it will be on a Friday though.

Gosh I much prefer the GN show to Ross in recent years, his show I found tired for the last few years, but each to their own.:)

Nah, I wasn't referring to GN, he's more of an entertainer and has improved over the years. I mean stuff like that Rob Brydon's show, and even though it's not really a chat show, Stephen K Amos' one too.

ha ha! as long as it was the 60's seriese... id add rowan and martins laugh in too!!!

indeed friday night comedy has been slack in recent years. ch4 being the main culprits but even the beeb moved hignfy. it was great starting off with tfi, before the main comedy progs were aired later on. it was something to look foreward to , sketch shows like smack the pony, trigger happy tv, sitcoms like father ted, royal family, finishing with more adult comedy like southpark or eurotrash.

now we have to use on demand to view comedy on friday nights.

The episode of Man from UNCLE shown that night was:

''The Gurnius Affair - Ilya faces his own image in a Nazi uniform'' if that helps anyone.

    Agreed :)

I've seen the compilation films many times but would love to see the original episodes.

It's a series that isn't repeated often enough.

Steven Soderbergh is apparently going to shoot a new Man From Uncle movie, with George Clooney as Napoleon Solo.
