Am I the only one who remembers these from the early 90s?
They were frozen chips with ketchup actually inside the chips. Nobody I've asked can remember them.

Very interesting, never saw them when they were around. Wonder if they got the ratio of potato to tomato right?

They are the ones. I couldn't remember who made them.

Another forgotten classic from around the same time are Cheesy Waffles. They came in a yellow box and were around longer than Ketchips but sadly I haven't seen them now for years.

Heston Blumental had his own version?? Not sure if he nicked them though as I can only find someone else's link to them (this link also links to HB's recipe but shows an error when you click on it??)

Possibly the most pointless product ever. No wonder they got rid of it.

They do a pack of 4 of them for a £1 when on offer and also some with brown sauce in too...I didn't get to try them as they went out of date before I could.

On the same theme of foods being combined for convenience, Sainsbury used to do little balls of cauliflower with cheese sauce in batter. They were called cauliflower crunchies, I think? I used to love them but I've never seen anything similar and no one seems to remember them?

I think even the usual price is £1.49 for 4 but I'm guessing they may be slightly smaller than the individual one you had?

This seems to be the right thread to ask if anyone remembers burgers around the same time that had like a thin cheese sauce in the middle that would kinda squirt out if you bit it wrong?

Can't remember them but in some US states/regions the Jucy Lucy is popular.

I've made my own before. You have to be careful when biting into them :D

I sometimes make burgers with a knob of blue cheese in the middle which sort of melts through the burger:)

As for Ketchips - yes I remember the ad, though never tried 'em, (nor wanted to)

I remember Ketchips - I think they materialised in the late 80s. I vaguely recall some stories at the time about kiddywinks burning their mouths on the red-hot ketchup (though it never happened to me), maybe that's why they were discontinued.

They were of the same era as Alphabites - are they still around? Oh the tension and excitement of waiting to find out if you could make your plate sweary :D

I think both were Birds Eye and they also did a thing around the same time called Chick Sticks, which I was less keen on and had a horrendously cheesy advert with hideous child actors recreating the 'maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow' scene from Casablanca.
