    The dad of the Savage family was also in eastenders on two separate occasions and just like Minty he played an old mate of the Mitchell brothers. He first appeared in 2002 as Dave Roberts and old pal of Grants and the new the queen vic bar manager who terrorized Peggy and Sam in Phil and Grants absence. He then played a different character Ray in 2006 - an old enemy of Grant's who'd been having an affair with Grant's wife Carla.

    No, he went to live with Dawn and Gary and hasn't been seen or mentioned or referred to by anyone since, not even Phil.

    Minty was going to squash up in the boat that could only accommodate two standing people as well? Wow. I don't know why he didn't just find himself a job as a handyman in a convent somewhere. He looks like he'd fit right in :)

    Which is so much more than can be said for him and the boat :D
