Chopsticks

Why did the Chinese, and Japanese, amongst others. Very clever peoples, not invent Forks and Spoons, hundreds of years ago, but use sticks to eat.
Also used and some still use very low tables, and sit on the floor. Why no chairs?

    Mainly because the Chinese of the Han Dynasty used a lot of lacquerware dishes and bowls, and chopsticks didn't damage them as much as sharpened utensils such as knives and forks.

    I love using chopsticks. I am pretty good at using them too much to my OH's annoyance.

    I just stab the food with them.

    It takes me ages to eat rice.

    The sitting on the floor in their socks thing is pretty bad. Its time to have a look west and say "oh yeah, thats better"
