Hello people,
I am not sure if you guys know about this, if thats the case, then sorry for repeat posting this. If not, then please read if you own a Canon Digital IXUS or Powershot camera.
I was on amazon.co.uk site, checking out prices for the Canon IXUS 500, and noticed one of the users said that he had experianced a IXUS E18 error, which is a lens error.
I have not read up much (i will do soon), but most of the people who had this camera, experianced this problem after 18 months, 4 months of ownership. Basically when you get this error, your camera locks up, its useless and you need to take it to a Canon Repair shop to get it fixed, which if not under warrent, costs you a 3rd of the price you pay, maybe more.
Look it up on any search engine
IXUS E18
I found this link, on the first page "www.ixus-world.de/tips/repair_guide/e18_01en.htm " very informative and helpful.
if you own a Canon or are wanted to buy one, then please read.
I am changing my mind now, I had the choice between this Canon IXUS 500 (looks the business) and the Sony DSC V1. looks like I will be buying the Sony.
Hope this helps
