Should managers have fan Q&A every so often?

I think that it would bring fans closer to the club.

my Club (Manchester United ) for example, fans could ask why the manager is in love with him.

We could ask why he chose not to even have falcao on the bench when he just seemed to start to come into form

Does anyone lose think it's a good idea?

Managers spend enough time answering the media's dumb questions after games. Wasting even more time answering even dumber questions by the fans is just a waste of time

Let them get on with the job they are paid to

Meeting the fans is good PR, although not with those questions.

Some clubs do run Q&A type sessions with the official fun club every now and then. I don't see why the manager should have to justify specific selection question though.

You only have to tune in to Talksport for five minutes to see why most don't do them.

Not those questions exactly celesti but anything that can get fans closer to the manager the betting. We seem to be getting further and further from that feeling of connectiom

As Soulboy mentions, a lot of clubs do this kind of thing a fair bit. To be honest though, they're all so stage managed and 'safe' the only attraction is getting to meet people in person

Arsenal fans who are used to seeing Wenger and the board fob off every question asked of them at the club's AGM would agree totally.

If the club are taking or have took a decision important enough to believe fan consultation/explanation is required then then fine but I don't know why managers should have to subject themselves to:

    "Why did you drop Smith?"

    or

"Are you bidding for Ronaldo in the summer?"

or even chairmen being quizzed on targets and budgets and whatnot.

Not seen that before, but Redknapp sure was proved right in his judgement! Scottie Cannon indeed! :D

If the manager doesn;'t want to answer questions from the fans (or the media, for that matter) I don't see why he should be forced to do it.

There are far more press conferences today than there used to be. To be honest, they add very little to the sport and most are a waste of time and money.

They would soon turn into ones like the West Ham one where the idiot was saying Lampard would never make it and why are they not playing XYZ.

If you could vet the people going to these things and check their questions before hand then maybe but if we getting the same dumb questions "why are you playing x" and " why are we playing this formation" or "why did we sell x player and not buy y player" then its just a waste of time.

By all means have a meet and gret session and maybe grab a signed picture or a selfie etc but question them? Dont see the point and it just stops the manager doing what he should be doing
