It didn't really matter to Blackpool or their fans though as they were bottom of the league.
I guess if they got points deducted from the start of next season then that would have been a deterrent.

I was looking up if the punishment for abandoned matches was arbitary.
I found this site with some interesting info, especially the Sheff Utd one.

I like the Gillingham one especially this bit

One player who was particularly pleased that the match was not replayed was Gillingham's Billy Jervis. It was the only Football League match he ever played in so if the match had been declared null and void his one league appearance would have been deleted from the record books.

UEFA/FIFA run competitions, UEFA/FIFA normally award a 3-0 win for abandoned matches, i remember the Milan derby in the 2002-03 Champions League quarter final being abandoned due to crowd trouble by the Inter fans, so UEFA awarded Milan a 3-0 win.

More recently Serbia v Albania match, Serbia were awarded a 3-0 win after trouble involving a drone with an Albanian flag & players reactions got the match abandoned but bizarrely Serbia got docked the 3 points.

Fans cause Blackpool game to be abandoned again. Good to see they haven't given up

Blackpool's pre-season friendly match against Lancaster City on Saturday was abandoned following a second-half pitch invasion by Seasiders fans.
The referee called the game off after 75 minutes when a small number of Blackpool supporters descended on the centre-circle to protest against chairman Karl Oyston.

Hmm a pre-season game, away at a non-league side? I'm not sure that's the place for it tbh.

    Very harsh on Lancaster.

This article appeared in the local paper recently

    http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/karl-oyston-is-on-a-different-planet-i-don-t-understand-him-1-7351617

"A number of former players have spoken of their hurt of the Seasiders’ current crisis which saw them relegated from the Championship last season and facing the prospect of playing in front of empty stands this term.

And the 61-year-old was the latest to contact The Gazette to say it’s time for change.

“The chairman at the moment seems to be on a different planet, I really can’t understand him at all. He seems to have no affection for the football at all – I don’t even know why he’s running a football club.

“My message to Karl Oyston is that if he’s not interested in improving the football club, then step aside and leave.

“To be honest I don’t think we’ll be able to turn this situation around – it’s gone too far
    ".

The last sentence says it all...:(

This was in the D.M. a few days ago, they have printed several articles on this subject.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3151987/Blackpool-Supporters-Trust-offer-Oyston-family-16m-control-club.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

"Blackpool Supporters' Trust offer Oyston family £16m to take control of club but unpopular owners are holding out for £50m
    ......
A series of documents sent to Blackpool gave a direct proposal to bring an end to the problems engulfing a chaotic club which is dying on its knees and was an embarrassment to the Championship last season
    ".

The football authorities must surely know things are very wrong at this club and they will have to get involved in this unholy mess.

Been a Blackpool season ticket holder for years - no more until the oystons go. Sadly the club could have benefitted for years from the cash that came in from the year in the prem but instead it lined the owners pockets. I'm all for owners making some profit but to take millions out whilst not providing a suitable squad is just wrong imho.

    An old article but .....

It just gets more and more bizarre.
    http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/oyston-beats-fa-ban-by-putting-his-wife-in-charge-1-7359126
"Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has stayed close to home in appointing a stand-in for the six weeks of his FA ban ... his wife.
    ...............
Vicki Oyston has been authorised as a signatory for any signings the Seasiders make in his absence
    ".

I'm not involved in any ot the fans' groups or the protests but I never thought I would see any football club owners treat their fans with such contempt. If the owners want to run the club into the ground and sell off the assets - why don't they just say so and get it over with?

    There has been a development
    http://www.sportinglife.com/football/league-one/news/article/419/9921808/-
"Having set a deadline of July 21 for a response to their £16m leveraged buyout, BST had initially received no reply from the Oyston family over their plan to take control of the club and leave the current owners with several assets connected to Bloomfield Road.

But Oyston has now broken that silence by confirming he is mulling over BST's offer.

An email sent to the trust and The Blackpool Gazette read: "Mr Owen Oyston has asked me to send you a note to advise he has not snubbed your offer as stated in The Gazette and is seriously considering it with his professional advisors".

    Also
    http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc/owen-oyston-seriously-considering-bst-bid-1-7373397
"He cannot work within the deadline imposed upon him but will reply in due course when he has had the full advice from the professionals".

The relationship between the owners and supporters really has now broken down beyond repair and there doesn't really seem to be much to gain for them by hanging on to the club. All the fans want is a fresh start under new ownership with a firm plan to get promotion of League 1 (aka Division 3).

I suppose Blackpool fans have shown all others how to claim their club back when you've got an undesirable owner that the authorities won't do anything about. Boycott most of the games resulting in minimal gate receipts. Turn up at a few games and force their abandonment. It no longer remains worthwhile for the owner to keep the club so they'll sell up. Clever!!

Another development on Friday at Accrington

    https://www.facebook.com/tangerineknightssupport

"We are receiving news about a 64 year old Blackpool fan who was refused entrance to this evenings game at Accrington.

This was allegedly done not by Accrington stewards, not by police from Accrington or Blackpool but by three Oyston FC stewards, including one of the stewards who had forcibly removed him last week from the Neil Diamond concert at Bloomfield Road.

Information is still coming in but if this is true and we have no reason to believe it not to be then this really is a new low to sink to and we will be taking this further
    ".

Since when have a club's stewards had the power to stop a supporter entering an away ground for a match. I can understand the police needing this power to stop known troublemakers, but club stewards are not the police.

What else has to happen before the football authorities have to get involved?

Note the use of the term "Oyston FC".

    Oh dear
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3184195/Blackpool-rush-pitch-relaid-Neil-Diamond-concert-Bloomfield-Road.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

"Blackpool face a race against time to get their Bloomfield Road pitch relaid ahead of the League One match against Rochdale in 11 days.
The club confirmed last week that there had been 'slight damage' to the turf following a Neil Diamond concert hosted at the 17,338-seater stadium at the end of July.
After initial work by groundsman Stan Raby, it has been decided that a full re-lay of the turf in front of the North Stand, where the concert's stage had been, is required.
    ..................................................
In the aftermath of Pool's relegation from the Championship last season and their £50,000 fine for a pitch invasion during the game against Huddersfield on May 2, the added expense of a relay comes as a further headache for the much-maligned owner Karl Oyston
    ".

"Cheer up", they said, "Things could get worse". And sure enough........:(

    11 days ???
