End of Religious Tax Breaks

Does todays decision to recognize Scientology as a religion signal the beginning of the end of the Tax free status enjoyed by Religions ?

As a now recognized religion this money making cult will now be tax exempt . It wont be long until we have a long line of other organisations, some dodgy some not so , claiming to be a religion for the tax free status it brings.

    To be fair, SCientology is no more or less ludicrous than any other religion.

    Yep, there's just as much evidence that Scientology is true as all the others, it suffers the cult tag because it's recently made up nonsense rather than old made up nonsense.

    The tax breaks should be done away with, along with those old local laws that compel local residents to give money to restore the local church.
