Foreigners would applaud affair

I'm as bored as the rest of you by the John Terry scandal but thought this was quite interesting.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter believes Terry would have been applauded for the affair in Latin countries rather than being dumped as skipper.

I thought this was a stupid statement at first but when you consider Silvio Berlusconi is the president of Italy then maybe he has a point. Bersculoni would never be PM here with his record with women.

So, what do you think? Are affairs acceptable abroad? Are we too uptight in the UK?

If only John Terry could be like 3 times married Blatter himself.
..... "Blatter remarried twice but never rediscovered the love he had shared with his first wife. Today he finds consolation in the literature of Paulo Coelho, a Brazilian spiritualist and philosopher",

    [From a 2008 Times article.]

I'm amazed the slapper who slept with him hasn't been applauded. I mean, John Terry! Couldn't she have picked better?

I recall that Presisent Mitterand of France had two families at his funeral.

His wife and their children, and his mistress and their children.

    Nobody batted an eyelid.

That kind of behaviour is expected in France. They think there is something wrong with you if you are male and don't keep a Mistress.

I recall getting a taxi home one evening and the Turkish driver asked if I was planning a holiday that year. Coincidentally my wife and kids were abroad for half term holiday at the time and I told him so.

He gave me the old nudge nudge, wink wink and asked if I would be bringing my 'girlfriend' to stay whilst they were away.

When I told him I don't have a girlfriend he exclaimed, "YOU DON'T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND??" and almost crashed the car in disbelief.

I liked what the wife of Avram Grant had to say, Tzofit, after the supposed massage parlour 'scandal'. Obviously she either couldn't give a stuff or, if she does, she's not going to make it everybody else's business.
"I don't understand all the fuss," said Mrs Grant, speaking from Tel Aviv. "Avram loves massages, also Australian massages and Japanese massages, as well as having massages from Thai women. He's the manager of Portsmouth. Do you know how tough that is? He's a great manager stuck in a crappy team. He works so hard, he needs two massages a day, and from two women, not one.

Anyway, whether or not my husband went to an escort agency, it's not my business and it certainly is not the business of the media. When Avram called me this morning and told me about the headlines, I told him he doesn't even have to reveal the details to me and certainly not to a newspaper. This is a private matter. Even if I suspected that my husband did actually go to a brothel, I would keep it to myself. The truth is that if Avram wanted to go to a brothel, it is his right. He can do whatever he likes with his body."

    How refreshing.
