Where are they all?
We need to know where the surviving WIMPY burger restaurants are
I love a Wimpy :)

Right;

Hayes End, Middlesex There's one on the Uxbridge road ( a4020).
Southsea, next to the Isle of Wight Hovercraft terminal.
Ryde, I.O.W. in the high street.
M.5. Southbound services North of Bristol.

Where else? I, and many others need to know!
Please add to the list!

The last time I was in a Wimpy was last year ... it was the one near Wembley Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Wimpy Restaurant Locator should assist with the OP's enquiry.

You can just use the restaurant locator here:

Ooh yes, mine's a nice Brown Derby please! :D

There has been a Wimpy Bar upstairs in Nottingham's Broadmarsh Centre for as long as I can remember, so that's another one for the list

About 6 years ago I went to a Wimpy that was inside Charlton football club.

There used to be one on Beckenham High Street (London borough of Bromley - south east part of London between Croydon and Kent).

Last summer I saw one on Swanage High Street (Dorset - village on the coast sort of near Wareham).

I would be Interested to know how some got to retain the name "wimpy" when they were taken over.

Wimpy are still going. They were introduced in the 1960s by the J.Lyons cake bakers to replace their corner houses.Today they are run as private franchises.
    AND THEY ARE LOVELY!

That store locator missed two that I know of and saw just last week, so it doesn't include them all-that's why I started this thread lol

Perhaps the franchise agreement for those two is a bit different and therefore they are somehow more "independent" that the ones listed on the website.

    Or the website´s just wrong...

I was just thinking about Wimpy yesterday, they were playing "Hey You, We're Having a Party' on the radio and I'm sure their advertising jingle was "We're having a wimpy'.

Last summer I saw one on Swanage High Street (Dorset - village on the coast sort of near Wareham).

The Wimpy in Swanage is in Institute Road which is near the lower High Street. I wouldn't call Swanage a village as it has 4 schools, 6 churches and 2 supermarkets and a population of around 10,000 or twice the size or Wareham.

Is it "Wimpy Watch" time again?

Okay, the one I've used most often is in Ruislip high street a few yards from the tube station.

Grand Metropolitan took over wimpy in 1987 as a quick way to expand the Burger King chain which it acquired the previous year. Several Wimpy branches were not suitable for conversion to Burger King so instead of closing them down Grand Met set up a separate company for the Wimpy bars which was sold to the management.

There is one in Barking, just along from the station. I haven't been in there for ages, but it was nice last time I did go in.
It's always busy, which is usually a good sign.

Still there! Although Beckenham is IN Kent, not between Croydon (in Surrey!) and Kent!!!
