All power to her elbow as such at her age, but I find the whole act mildly disturbing.
It's not right throwing that old girl around like that imo, and when she stroked his leg I shuddered.
My thoughts exactly. I don't want to see an elderly woman's knickers except perhaps on a washing line. I'm happy for her that she's not vegetating in an old people's home and that she's still agile for her age, but I don't want to see her being thrown about or opening her legs for inspection by the British public. Sorry and all that.
The first time they were on, it was totally unexpected and very funny but the poor lady has definitely crashed and burned and I can't understand why people have voted for them.
Its got nothing to do with talent, anyone can throw anyone around, its the fact that she is 90,
Its 90% about the granny and 10% about the other bloke!
I think your comments are rather harsh. I also find you referring to her as "the granny" rather disrespectful. Even if it isn't talent, it's sheer bravery. That alone should be applauded. It's scary enough being thrown around like that when you're young, but at nearly 80 there's a big element of danger because of fragile bones. I actually find her fitness and flexibility astounding (knowing several people of a similar age to her). The "other bloke" has an important role to play in keeping her trust and not dropping her!
I said the same on another thread . They're supposed to be dancing salsa but all they do is twirl, lift, twirl, lift ad nauseam . Boring . They are thousands of better salsa dancers dancers in the UK .
I agree, there's hardly any dancing and even that is very static. I think it's more to do with her age, take Paddy away and replace her with someone younger, I doubt they would have got through.
Personally I didn't think she was good, the praise was way ott and I hope she stops going on about her injury.
I think she should have retired injured last night.
It was very clear that she was still in pain fro her injury and her routine had been radically altered to take account of it. It was very unrehearsed with lots of mistakes very obvious!
Even in her audition, I thought she had the wow factor - but her positions in the air and the entries and exits to the the lifts were ungainly in places, so not as good as the panel were trying to tell us. Amazing for her age - yes, brilliant dancer - no!
As it is she has another week to rehearse another simplified routine as with a rib injury (especially at her age) she won't be able to perform her full one so soon. I wouldn't mind betting that she actually wanted to be voted out last night!
I am sick sore and tired of the judges putting through an act just because they are "being brave" - Hollie Steel got through undeservedly in her series on the same grounds. Paddy at least came on and actually tried her best, and seemed to play down her injury .

This - there were so many errors last night, they kept stopping and starting when she missed moves. Yet the judges didn't notice? She was obviously still in pain, at one point you could see Nico asking if she was ok.
I admire her for having a go and hope I have that energy at her age, but I don't want to see her getting hurt.
Paddy looked frightened last night and as mentioned she really was in pain.
Are they willing to risk killing her just to get AHs golden buzzer to the top? Is that where this is heading?
Very uncomfortable to watch.
How can an 80 yr old going on 90 being thrown and walked around to music be remotely entertaining or talented?
it just reminded me of strictly come dancing with Anne widdecome and her partner where every routine just consisted of her being dragged around the dance floor.
I understand that it is good for someone of her age to be dancing but I don't see where the talent is.
It annoys me that everyone on the show seems to forget that the act is called Paddy AND NICO. Bet it would be different if he looked like Darcey Oake!
xx
But it would still be just as bad. Throwing someone around, actually rather clumsily, and walking them round the floor seems to be more of a cross between gymnastics and Crufts.
...the routine is grab granny, swing granny and spilt for 10 seconds - repeat
LOL, though fair play to her for giving it a go despite the recent injury. However, it's obviously an age-biased/sympathy vote type thing that's put them in the Final. I'm not sure this is a good thing for her own health, I thought she looked as if she was in pain after last night's performance.
I agree - they weren't so bad in their audition, somewhat smoother, but the injury made a big difference to their performance, theyd've been better off bowing out in a dignified manner.
I'm not putting them down, I mean good on the ol girl for being so energetic at her ahem and Nico for knowing the right way to handle her, as it were, but IMO there were far more talented dance acts that didn't make it, and thTs annoying!

He could have borrowed one of Kony's puppets to replace Paddy

I'd be impressed if she managed it in both regards LOL!
;-)
It's like Juan Sheet with one of the escort grannies from the other night.

Just because she's 79 should not be an excuse .

Its just not for me at all.
But I somehow think COWell convinced her to stay on and perform.
