Texting with Panasonic KX-TG7322E

I hope this is the correct section for this.:)
For some while now I have owned a Panasonic KX-TG7322E answerphone + 2 handsets. Up to now I have not been a texter and just assumed the apparatus could not be used to send text.
Looking through the manual, on P39 it has the text character sets and what appear to be guide to switching to text mode.
But it is unclear to me how ( i can't find a ?key? that has something like1/a/b on it!

If someone will take my hand I'll be very happy.
