To be fair though if he'd have come to Manchester he'd probably have been given a right old kicking so y'know..it's not all bad :p

Ant and Dec are so inoffensive, why on earth would someone want to punch one of them? They're only little, too.

Reports say Ant wanted to headbutt the attacker in retaliation but was stopped because of the risk to innocent bystanders.

well the lad who punched him would have to be only 5 foot 5" for Ant to headbutt him:o aww poor Ant i cant help but like these two but dont think Dec was with him by the sounds of it as the lad asked where his girlfriend was meaning Dec:o:o:D

I like Ant! Hope he's ok, poor guy, it's probably not the first time some drunk has tried to bait one or both of them - they seem to have the marmite effect on people!

That was a joke maureen, playing on the fact Ant has a big (fore)head.

There was a youtube clip - long removed - where Ant and Dec were being taunted in a pub by some onlookers. They remained polite and courteous for ages, and they had no minders or anyone to intervene. Eventually they got up and left, to a chorus of jeers - but they didn't retaliate, either verbally or physically.

No wonder some celebrities surround themselves with hangers-on and snub members of the public.

Two sides to a story. The media take the celebrity side.

Since when have the media taken the side of the celeb?

    It's usually the exact opposite.

Sorry, but there is no excuse for mindless violence.
