More to the point I wonder what Pauline would have thought of his VT.

Ah bless! The great man himself makes an appearance and no sod notices!

Hi Jonty. You still working in Sir John Soane's Museum?

Now a little inhibited at the thought that Jonty may still be lurking  , but a rare example of a housemate where 'eccentric' does not mean 'contrived act to get more attention'. Jonty is a sweetie.

Why do you think none of it was contrived? It wouldn't be inconsistent with him being a sweetie.

He seemed an inoffensive enough, simple soul.......with his teddy which he talked to and used to talk to others..........I found him a very strange man........he actually walked around naked one night.......

No he didn't. >:( He was filmed ONCE in the bathroom drying himself after a shower naked. He had just had a shower with Kara Louise, who obviously thought nothing of it. He said afterwards that in the House Next Door (of which we saw virtually nothing) that was what they always did, so it was nothing.

After BB I unscrupulously walked round the Museum of London asking members of staff who had worked with him if he was like the person we saw on BB. They seemed to agree that he was liked but eccentric. So at least it wasn't put on for BB.

He was a classic old-school HM, never nasty to anyone, an all-round good guy.....

That he's eccentric doesn't mean that nothing of what he did in BB was contrived.

He could be an eccentric sweetie -- and I'm happy to believe he is -- yet still have contrived some things for BB. There was certainly a big difference betwee Jonty when he first came in and how he was later, for instance when having a long talk with Sam.

He was one of the better housemates that series. That's not saying much though considering the other options available...

@Radical Joe Yes, I still work for Sir John Soane's Museum.

Good news. I pop in there roughly twice a year; it's like stepping back into the past with the layout of the house, the way the exhibits are positioned and the candlelights. Never seen you there yet. Perhaps next time.
