and another new thread on how bad eastenders is right now,,not one story line has me caring or dying to find out wat happens next episode,,its a shame being a fan from start nvr seen it this bad.
My dad had a rare viewing of it and did reference how its gone back to the days where you feel depressed by the end and said 'for gawds sake turn it over to emmerdale now'
I also notice how they have made Roxy and Ronnie as irritating as possible before their impending demise this month. God SOC really hates these characters doesn't he ?
I thought last night was a strong one. Good scenes with Denise, and I'' finding the Ronnie and Roxy stuff more believable than a lot of stuff that the pair have been given in recent years.
There were some good scenes with Denise, but the programme just isn't compelling and I don't care about it right now. I just can't be bothered with it.

Your dad sounds like my kind of guy , before anyone starts it was a joke guess I'm not the only one who thinks so after watching it on Tuesday
Got any evidence to back that up? And no Twitter, Facebook and DS aren't representative of the entire viewing base.
Viewing figures are generally equal to or up on last year so there's some proof it's not as bad as people are making out.
I really do not understand why people quote viewing figures at the moment? The new producer has barely been in the job 5 minutes, it would take months and months to see a significant enough drop.
I would say wait till March/April before throwing figures out.
And again this dismissal of social media is something I do not understand, in the modern world its a good way of finding out what the audience think, take Facebook for example its a wide spectrum of people young/old etc.
From what I have been seeing over the past month or so the comments on there have been overwhelmingly negative. More so than i have ever seen.
As for last nights episode, it was not too bad, i was'nt going to watch, but just decided to go for it as a warm up to the second Emmerdale
There have been far worse episodes over the past few weeks anyway, put it that way.
I actually enjoy the episodes with more Ronnie and Roxy, so when they die i really will be able to switch off.
Denise revealing she's giving her baby her for adoption and explaining her reasons why, Ronnie and Roxy coming to the conclusion that their lives may be better off without each other - how can you say it was pointless?
All this hate is doing my head in now. Give stories a chance to build, for f**k's sake.
What was wrong with last nights episode, more Patrick and Denise Scenes, Lees Text telling him he has gone past his overdraft limit, buying Whitney that Necklace causing that.
Roxy and Ronnie Storyline.
And Scenes between Martin and Derek, which folks on here have been banging on about for weeks, and when it does happen, folks still bloody moan,
A poster above on about Eastenders now leaves them Depressed, surely the doom and gloom episodes, would make u feel more like depressed

The problem with social media in general (and DS come to that) is that people like to moan far more then they like to praise. It's a well known phenomena within business and particularly within customer service training. Studies into people's behaviour have time and time again shown that people who receive poor customer service tell around eight people whereas those who receive great service only tell around one. Figures vary from study to study obviously but the outcome is always much the same.
Commenting on a TV show on social media is no different. People are far more likely to moan about something they didn't like than to praise something that they did like. It's human nature unfortunately and it's made worse because having received poor service or having not enjoyed a meal/film/TV show etc, they're also looking for validation from others that their experience was not unusual. Of course, often it is unusual but also, some of the mud sticks and gets built up across social media and the media in general.
I spoke to a couple of relatives in how they are finding the show at the moment. My Mum has been a viewer since Day 1 and has stuck through it thick and thin and she has found it boring at the moment, but enjoyed the Denise scenes as she feels she's the most capable actress in the programme. Plus she's a character you could try different roads with and the realisation of being a Mum at a late age. Another relative prefers Corrie at the moment and think it's boring with R+R v Jack etc.
Opinion is divided and last night's was actually watchable. Yes it's the third soap now, but there isn't that much ratings wise between the big three.
I'm back on the ee drug. I stopped for about 5 months during the summer with Grant etc. I can't stand Stephen, he's creepy, so am glad he's not really in it now. I think it's gone back to slow burn rather than Boom! each episode which is what people accept happens in soaps now.
I thought it was the same old small minority who always praise the show no matter what
I thought that those same old complainers would just switch the channel over and watch something they might not complain about 24/7 but looks like I am wrong as well doesn't it?

Although a problem with viewing figures is that they include people who watch out of habit so might not give a good picture of how much people are enjoying the show.

Thats a stupid thing to say as some people care about the show, i have watched it for 20+ years, i want to watch it, i want it to be good, its not my fault its shite.
