It was Alright in the 1970's Channel 4 9pm

This should prove an entertaining watch for those into nostalgia. When people were still allowed to smoke on TV and who knows, we may even get a glimpse of semi-clad dolly birds in black stockings and suspenders via Benny Hill. :o:o

Parental Warning: Not suitable viewing for children under 21 so please ensure they are tucked up in bed by 8.30pm. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing some good olde fashioned racism and homophobia by way of 70s sitcoms.

Love Thy Neighbour needs a remake.

I look forward to clips of Jim Davidson doing his Chalkie White, The Black and White Minstels, Love Thy Neighbour,, Mind Your Language, (haha, actually tge Italian guy WAS really funny) and numerous extremely gay men.

And some girls running about in their knick knacks, chasing a fat man around, which I guess was about female empowerment...

Yeaaa......i'd agree on that! GD would short circuit and blow a fuse! :o

Don't you mean when women were normal? Whipped their Bras off and burnt 'em. None of this wacko Feminazi nonsense bleating "sexual harassment" the minute a male looks at them or, God forbid, pats the bum....which then becomes "sexual assault"!!

It's all done in the best possible taste. :)

Or they do it by claiming it is a historical documentary.

We should actually have an actual 70s day every year when the nation can say and do very non PC things to each other.

I was a 70's teenager!! Great times - Bay City Rollers, Jon Pertwee was Dr Who, flared trousers, flowered shirts - and Magpie on ITV!! What more could we want?
There was also popular sitcoms on ITV like Love Thy Neighbour saying 'naughty words' and Maggie Thatcher came into power!"! :o

the ironic thing about any kind of moral outrage over tv in the 70's, is that no-one bats an eye lid over lingering bikini shots of women in the shower on i'm a celebrity, or moans about kim kardashian getting her tits and arse out again and again. people may moan about pans people, yet think miley cyrus is empowering women.

the 70's are over with and tv was of its time. why bitch about it when it's not going to come back. by all means watch this program (i am) but lets not get worked up eh.

    rant over.:D

Nothing sexist about slapping a woman and ripping her clothes off, so that you can get a grenade out of her blouse.

"that edge too far with Benny Hill"...

And yet 50 Shades flies off the shelves and rape fantasies are VERY popular with some women today...

Yes, there's so much hypocrisy about sexism nowadays. People complain about Page 3 then go home to watch explotative hardcore porn on the internet. Or download photos of children. The 70s was blessed innocence compared.

And it's interesting to note that WOMEN can sexualise anything - but woe betide any man...
