The vast majority of foreign characters in the Famous Five books were criminals, which at the very least is xenophobic

    And funny :)

Absolutely yes, I just hope it's as funny as Five Go Mad in Dorset, although I didn't find Five Go Mad on Mescalin quite as funny.

Sadly it wasn't. What a shame.

Amusing, giggly in places but weak. Enjoyed the 5 minutes documentary about the filming with a few outtakes more.

Did they use the same car from the Sarah Jane Adventures?

Julian said George was his sister - but she was his cousin - how could he forget he had an Aunt Fanny!

Was this a one off or has a new series been made?

One off to celebrate 30 years of the comic strip.

They'd never get the cast back together for a full series.

Or, put another way, can you imagine the cost of getting them all to commit to a full series. I'd imagine they did this for personal nostalgia reasons rather than because GOLD was able to pay their going rates.

I'm currently living in Malaysia and my international satellite dish has not been able to pick this up due to atmospheric conditions. Has it been repeated anywhere? Feel free to PM me...

Meh, it was alright... a few moments that genuinely made me laugh tbf. The biggest shock was seeing how much Daniel Peacock has aged, never mind Richardson!
Not sure what the point of Rik Mayal's character was, his story wasn't concluded which was a shame... unless they're planning a 'part 2'?

I rather think his alcoholism would have affected his memory somewhat
