Could anyone confirm what the manufactures warranty is (or was) for a Topfield TF5810 bought in September 2010?

Mine has just started bootlooping and although it has done it before the operation of it is getting worse (the remote is a joke) and would like to send it back but Dixons say it is only 12 months so out of warranty.

Thanks

The importers (Turbosat) warranty is two years. You could try them.

If no joy there's a guy on toppy.org.uk who repairs them for a reasonable price.

I forgot to mention the problems you are having sound like the classic Topfield failed capacitors in the PSU, if so it's an easy fix you can do yourself as long as you're good with a soldering iron.
    Does the PSU need repairing?

Although a few owners have replaced the capacitors as an exercise in preventative maintenance, the majority only make this move after experiencing difficulties with their Toppy. The PSU supplies several voltages to the rest of the Toppy and each of these can vary somewhat independently with the result that the instability experienced by other components, such as the HDD or the tuners, will differ from Toppy to Toppy. Consequently, the range of symptoms that can indicate a failing PSU are many and varied, so it is very difficult to precisely determine that the PSU is at fault without removing the top and checking the voltages. Possible symptoms include:
Hard drive clicking / not spinning up
    Re-booting / locking up / not starting
(Extremely) sluggish response to the remote
