Are Cash Generators In Trouble?

I've been in couple of their stores this last week and it's very poor. Hardly any stock in and what they were selling was just junk. One of the stores I went in doesn't even open on Saturdays anymore.

Cash converters seem much more upmarket.

The stores are a franchise so I suppose it will depend on each area and what people are bringing in to sell, plus they have a website where I would imagine many of the loans go via.

The rare times I go in it's like a Jeremy Kyle holding pen. They best thing in the shop is usually a tatty PS3 or a 1st generation iPad.

My local branch is like a junk shop.

They even appear to have a 7 year old writing the price tags judging from the handwriting and the fact that they'd marked the "before" price as lower than the "now" price

Could be connected to this crackdown on payday loans - CG and their all-loans sibling Cheque Centre have even closed a few of their branches 'round these parts - indeed, I found out they were related when the Cheque Centre shut, as it advised customers to take their business to the loans desk of the nearest CG store...

They can only sell what people sell to them, So they are sort of limited at this time of year as a lot of people sold stuff for christmas and a lot of people then bought with money they got for christmas

As the bills come in people will sell stuff again

Quoting that for the sheer hilarity of it. Whenever I walk past one there always seems to be a copper or two standing inside or a cop car parked up outside.
