Remarkable thing is that if we discount the swimming totally, then we have more medals than the US in terms of both golds and total number.

Yes I know we could say take cycling away etc etc and we can prove any argument, but it does show an astonishing depth to the GB team.

    Very, very proud.

We also have more medals per population (or something like that) in comparison to the USA and China.

China already has 9 golds and the host country has zero. We can only barely manage a bronze. Team GB should be ashamed of thermselves!

No you wait because you'll be getting more flak for there being zero results.

This hole of yours is getting deeper and deeper.

For all the claims of "troll", I strongly suspect we are in a scenario not too dissimilar to this:

    17, only two off Beijing.

Jason Kenny goes in the cycling sprint final in about 45 minutes; here's hoping it's 18 by the end of the day.

Real possibility we could end up with between 25 and 27 golds. Cycling this evening important if we are to do this.

China's population is 22 times the size of GB's. Therefore per head of the population we are so far ahead it's embarrassing. 18 Golds multiplied by 22 is actually an equivalent 396 Golds!

Yes, and on the same basis, New Zealand's 3 Golds is equivalent to 1,008 Gold Medals so far! :D

Love this thread though, one of the most epic fails ever seen in DS history and that's saying something!

Times and Guardian predicting 72+ medals overall and 25/26 gold.

I'm just happy we should cross the 20 gold and 50 overall, 25 gold and 70 overall would be immense!
