The contents apart from the root folders have been completely wiped
I was about to buy a hard drive to back up the NAS - which was getting full, orange warning light was on.
Has any got/used an Iomega NAS drive?
Using the browser to login, on one of the screens there is an item 'disk repair' will this do more hard than good?
or should I use a disk recovery tool, recovering music and videos isn't too important, recovering photos is.
On another screen it shows the drive as empty.
At the moment the drive is disconnected from the router and powered off.
Any help would be most appreciated, thanks!

Iomega replaced it without asking any questions - not even asking how old it was, so I guess there were known issues.
Have a look around the iomega forums. Failing that, if the photos are really important, you may need to take it to a data recovery specialist - which will be expensive.

Looking at other forum posts, it looks like the data is recoverable - but its a bit of a ball ache to do it.
Or is it a new feature to there NAS drives.
I use Ubuntu Linux on a ageing laptop, so might request help from a Linux forum...
Just did a search and have you seen this link? People with what looks like the same problem, and the info from sgerwinat might be helpful:
