This is no doubt to replace all the 54g boxes which aren't fast enough for planned services.

It's to encourage OnDemand use. No other reason

I connect my box to my router via an ethernet cable and don't plan on moving either.

If i get this should i sell it or may it be needed at some future time (if i upgrade to fibre for example).

    Thanks for any help.

Well I just tried to order that and found that even though the wireless connector was stated to be free my bill was now going to be £68.25 a month instead of the £60.75 a month that I'm paying at the moment, so I backed out sharply!
This was possibly because I'm paying less than I should be because of the subscription bundles change a while ago, where I downgraded temporarily and then got all the channels back again for the same price when the packages changed.
Having the "free" connector may have reset that, so anyone in the same position as me beware, the connector certainly won't be free if you end up paying an extra £7.50 a month for ever afterwards!
    :)

Got one ordered, just need to get another one for my second box.

    Edit....

Well it let me order a second, presumably it's aware I have two boxes. Just have to wait to see if they both arrive.

No need to wait, got two emails asking me to contact Sky, just got off the phone and it's bad news - as I already have two connectors, though only g rated, they will not offer me a free upgrade to the n rated connectors. Oh well, worth a try.
