I still like Tracy Beaker Returns because there were some brilliant episodes but I feel Tracy wasn't needed. Tracy should have become a writer, she always dreamed of becoming one in 'TSOTB'.
She did but after the first series finale of Tracy Beaker Returns, she changed her mind. Writing the article made her realise that she wanted to stay in Elm Tree as careworker. In the end, she at least proved she could do it and thought that was enough.

Yeah, But realistically she would have become a writer. The dream was so strong in 'TSOTB' that she would have grabbed the opportunity immediately.
Anyway, Anticipating the dumping ground. In about two minutes.

True and she did in the final episode but people do change over time. I'm personally glad she decided to stay because she was also happy working at Elm Tree House. She even had a lot of enjoyable moments when she was living there as a kid. It wasn't all gloom.
