Yes great series. Also available on BBC DVD according to a round robin I've had from the BBC Shop.Always remember the episode where one of the PoWs feigned madness but he really became insane and was repatriated.

Thanks tonyscribble, I would have missed that!

Amazing isn't it, a cult programme that hasn't been repeated for years (decades!), that hasn't been out on DVD because the Beeb and their US partners (Fox?) couldn't reach an agreement, and they just toss it out on a minority Freeview channel with no fanfare at all.

    Sigh.

Sees it has a running time of 1 hour 10 mins on Yesterday, so won't be cut to fit a 55 mins schedule like it was many years ago on UK Gold

Was only complaining the other day in anothr thread about it not having been repeated for years (I remember ages ago it was shown on UK Gold, along with Tenko).

Sitting here with my drool bucket waiting for David McCallum, Robert Wagner and Christopher Neame to appear :o

    Typical.
UK Gold aired it in the 90's and its not been seen since.

And now it gets a repeat just as the dvd's come out

Great series. Bernard Hepton playing an almost sypathetic Nazi if I remember correctly.

Agree. Most memorable episode was where someone "fakes" madness to get out.

I live quite close to Ealing Studios and a friend who worked there took me on the set. Incredibly small, and the castle was made of painted polystyrene. Sadly none of the cast were about.

Filming looks very dated. Have they not it restored the print?

Just watching this on Yesterday and it's better than most drama currently on TV, for me at least.

Mult-camera technique of course but great convincing acting and actual stories!

    Heil!

I'm enjoying it greatly! Good old fashion acting like it used to be. Long head-shots and no special effects to get in the way. Gripping!

You expect teenagers to have an attention span longer than the titles?

They only understand Tom Cruse flying in by helicopter and killing 10 people before the titles start.

This show requires watching and thinking!

Its also great to see how the actors have gone on and have successful acting careers.
    Can't wait for next episode.

Teenagers don't run TV channels though.

It's really that TV executives today have a low opinion of everybody, even grown-ups.
