I'm far from hysterical about this. It's more about the timing of their decision, really, and what the channels real intentions are. I mean, a British soldier was recently murdered in broad daylight by two British muslims, which is why I think their decision lacks taste.

    Exactly this. Well said.

Wow, that's pretty quick. Unbelievably so.

Yes well...I think it was wishful thinking on his part tbh. Wish I cd remember his wretched name tho. I read about it today so I'm not relaying a dream or nowt. And it was 2015.. I suppose it's a bit like the rapture really...they just pluck a date out of the air..

Not sure if that's true either - wasn't it that *white* British people will be in a minority?

    Potato, potatoe.

    Which, you know, who cares?

Dont you think it suggests there is a problem? that a society is unable to sustain itself, where two people produce one child and struggle to buy a home even when both of them work and instead of people asking why, they say... meh, who cares.

The problem isn't that people come here but the situation should be sufficient that they don't become a minority.

I quite like the idea of different people, different countries, different cultures and different customs but i'm not too keen on people who, when presented with the idea that one of them may be slowly disappearing and becoming a minority, say's meh, who cares.

Sounds like you're already on edge.

I think people who act all disapproving that anyone is on edge because of extremists has their head in the sand and needs a reality check. Tensions are awful in this country and elsewhere right now, and I don't even know what to say to those who either don't see it or outright deny this.

Even as a Muslim, I don't like the idea. There are plenty of other free-to-air channels, dedicated to each region, which have daily call-to-prayers.

Not sure what purpose your comment serves, to be honest.

Censorship via ridicule. Happens all the time on DS, where anyone who is passionate about anything is instantly labeled outraged or paranoid.

The only people likely to get upset are the type of people who are already a lost cause anyway.

So anyone who disagrees with something like this should be written off right away as an EDL moron type or something? Unbelievable.

This, but you can't reason with the self-loathing liberal white guilt sufferers at all. Some of them would actively wipe out their own race or at least all its history if they could, I bet.

Can't argue with racists, either, unfortunately. Especially not those who will use any excuse to try and convince people that their own race is being diluted or eclipsed, just because they resent seeing foreigners in the country.

Alternatively someone finds your views laughable, that's not censorship.
You carry on talking, others can carry on laughing, where's the censorship.

And anyone who thinks that this whole thing is a tempest in a teapot is "a self-loathing liberal white guilt sufferer [who] would actively wipe out their own race or at least all its history if they could'? Unbelievable, indeed.

I've been accused of 'censorship' in this thread too. It's as though some people are desperate to be censored so that they can claim repression.

But I don't think it will be quite like that.

I can foresee a time in the not too distant future, when the successive generations of various communities will start to socialise more strongly. More inter culture friendships and relationships will start to be formed, and there will be children borne of these new relationships.

When this starts to happen ~ and it will, rest assured on that ~ the fundamentalists are going to have and will cause a big, big problem. Before they eventually accept the inevitable societal shifts, I'd bet they will try and make life very difficult for those of their "current" community they see "marrying out" or "marrying infidels", as they see control slipping from their grasp.

Nope, both. But one does not justify another.
Strange how some make excuses for islamic extremism, and turn a blind eye frequently (mainly through monumental arrogance and self serving that would embarrass a Tory) yet rant against those demonstrating AGAINST these unwelcome bigots, and the acts that their worst examples get up to. Oh....and make excuses for THEM too.
Actually, not only do they rant against the likes of the EDL who AREN'T murdering people in the street, but RIOT and attack police also - then have the monumental GALL to accuse the EDL of doing what THEY do.
Of course others just sneer against others on forums, whether at "work" in publicly funded this or that...or at home.
So - when do you think MUSLIM countries will ever strart treating NON muslims in a humane manner, let alone church service on Muslim TV ?

You seem to have a strange way of ignoring what has CAUSED these "tensions" - or are you trying to convince yourself that everything THEY do is "our fault" ?
The muslims don't worry about that in "their muslim lands" in fact christian minorities are in a state of siege, while people like you whine that we're not making it luxurious enough in the west for these cuckoos in the nest.

Predictable crap from the UK's try-hard broadcaster.

In your future, if i apply the same logic and same sources as i do today, the people busy forming friendships, relationships and having children will be in the same situation we are today, in an unsustainable society, slowly dissapearing only to be replaced by an influx of more of the same.

You don't seem to care about the differences and hold up a world full of identical people as some sort of utopia and it is supposedly people like you who celebrate diversity.

How do you disappear people? Neutron rays?

Your horror story image of people forming friendships, relationships and having children truly scares me, though. How do we stop it from happening?

Simple, you put them in a society where it is difficult to make enough to replace the ones who die.

I'm not having the sex talk with you. Suffice it to say, that if a man and a woman who love each other very much live in the same society, they might manage to 'make' more people.
