Kindle - Daily Mail - I don't *believe* it!

It takes 8 times as long to download the DM for my e-book reader as it does the Grauniad. Today, DM has 23 Mbytes versus Grauniad's 2.5 Mbytes.

First page I look at after the cover page:

House prices fall sharply in eight out of ten regions in England and Wales

:D

If I can find some torrents that aren't crappy PDFs I might actually be arsed to use it.

I downloaded that 80,000 author one - 28 bastard gigabytes of it - and they're all lit and PDF. I'd complain if they weren't free.

Hmm. It's so big because it uses colour images and has *lots* of pictures (cue jokes about the DM average reading age)

I actually found one article in it that I found quite enlightening!

    Bleugh!

Do a bulk convert using calibre.

A lot of PDFs are perfectly managable, just read it landscape.

Presumably only the regions that expressed a price?

calibre is ace (note that I didn't spell it Calibre) ... and many PDFs are legible in landscape. :)

I thought this was the story about the number of Kindles sold in the UK in the past year

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1342830/Kindle-Amazons-best-selling-product-2010.html

I'm not surprised. I'm just back from a trip to South America - of 12 people, 2 had an ipad & 2 a Kindle. I felt somewhat neolithic with just a ipod Touch

Your Kindle was probably choking on it.

Too right. It got all overheated and started to emit smoke.

You're an expert, can you explain this problem I have with my Kindle please? It puts up this error message:

    Error 404: Outraged
