On a slightly different note, I don't understand why downloading child porn is classed as 'making' it. It was on 24 Hours in Police Custody the other night.
Something to do with torrents or the way certain file sharing protocols work? I sometimes watch live streams of football matches that I'm not supposed to be viewing. As well as downloading it I'm also distributing it to others at the same time.
Edit: If not that, then maybe it's because when they download and store it on their hard drive it's counted as making a copy of it?
It's irrelevant how they classify themselves. If they view child abuse images they are supporting & usually paying for the further rape & buggery of babies & children.
I think you would find it incredibly difficult to watch if you are not a peadophile, I mean even if you were curious, why would you want to? I don't think I could, even if I were curious. I don't think you would have to be a paedophile to watch it as a one off, but to regularly make a habit of it? Yeah, something's not right there.

Some people have to watch it as part of their job - e.g. police to ascertain if a crime has been committed. I don't much care about the niceties as to whether someone who watches it must be sexually attracted to children. If you don't need to watch it and it is real and you do, then you have continued the abuse.
I don't see why people are trying to make out because you don't have to be gay to watch gay porn that you aren't a pedophile if you make a habit of watching child porn. And that's the point. Watching something online does not automatically mean you gain sexual gratification from it or any other kind of gratification. Obviously, it goes without saying that there are clearly people out there who do gain gratification from certain things online and those are the ones who need dealing with.
To essentially declare that "if you do this, then you're definitely that" is a gross over simplification IMO.

If there were other people there when it happened that didn't actually touch the child themselves BUT still sat there and sexually pleasured themselves whilst watching, wouldn't you think they are just as sick and as bad as the abuser?
