Have there been any episodes where the mother gave up the child for Adoption because she did not want it and the child decided to look for her and found out where she lived
I'm not sure they'd do that scenario as it would be embarrassing if they found the mother & she didn't want to know, even more so if they had to tell the adopted child that !
I think that must inevitably happen but they won't show the segment. In the follow-up show they made I think they mentioned about parents/children not keeping touch much after the show was aired

Davina was on Loose Women (don't judge me!) a few days ago and said they do get stories where people don't want to meet, or do want to meet but not on camera.
Only realizing I missed the catch up series last Autumn, hope it's repeated. I always remember the twins who lived really close to each other and wondered if they became close as I got the impression they probably would

And she also said that in a lot of cases they cannot trace the missing person - might be making the stat up but I think she said 5 out of 7 were unsuccessful.

Yeah I think I remember her saying 5 in 7 too. I remember thinking "gosh that's high".
I tried to do something like this for a friend last year, find their birth father... I imagined a Davina-like happy ending. But then I discovered he'd died two years earlier, and had to tell her that. Which is probably one of the worst moments in my life.
I did do the next best thing, find and put her in touch with his family, so at least she could find out about him. I'm glad I did it. But it can get seriously intense. Just like on TV! Puts a different perspective on it for me as a viewer, though, now I've seen it for real.

My wife is having regular meetings with an adoption counsellor now, and she told my wife that quite of lot of the early tentative approaches are rebuffed as the birth mother has kept her child a total secret from her "newer" family.
For people who have discovered they are adopted, this can be a double blow of rejection.
Is that what it's about? I thought it was maybe like an Heir Hunters type format
I suppose it's a hybrid as they use a Finder called Charlie (read Heir Hunter) who finds their "Long Lost Family". It doesn't have a presenter just a voice over...

If the mother was 18 when she had her and the child is 29, he is in late 40s +

30 and 50 ....
I was thinking the same thing but as others have said he must be around 50ish, I think he just looks younger than he is.
