Well exactly. Suddenly armchair internet keyboard warriors have become professional psychiatrists and can evaluate someone they've never met and in another country.

Imagine for a moment if we changed the law that incorporated that thesis, i.e. that a multiple murder does not have to face jury and trial for their crimes, they are carted off in a wagon to the nearest loony bin.

Their way of justice and closure for the victims' families.

So in other words you place a virtue on all human beings; We're all good and those who kill in cold blood must have some kind of brain injury. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ida Amin, all good guys but along the way went a bit mental. Yeah? Ok how about a bit more recent and closer to home. Ian Huntley, good or insane?

No offense you're entitled to your opinion but do you seriously believe what you're saying? It seems in your world there is only good and mental, and bad or evil does not exist.

I am really sorry to burst your bubble Annette but there are evil people about and they are as compos mentis as you or I.

    isn`t that what you`re doing?

The judge has given the decision so presumably there is some kind of evidence for it.

Therefore, posters are simply going along with that, and not actually diagnosing the man themselves.

Yes we can speculate about it without diagnosing someone.

There were early reports that he was faking being crazy because he asked for a lawyer. There were rumors he took pills before he did it ( so that would complicate it, if he was high and not just psychotic).

It gets fuzzy, in that many would agree you have to be mentally ill to do what he did, although you can be mentally ill and still know the difference between right or wrong.

When we see his official diagnosis it will probably be more clear.
