Since a Brit won the women's singles.

The wait goes on...

Hopefully we won't have to wait 77 years.

Laura has the tools to do it - just needs to develop more consistency.

How spooky is it that 36 and 77 both came up trumps to finally see another British tennis player win a Wimbledon singles title.

The problem both of those have, is the frightening talent coming through in other countries too.

That number won't reach 40. Robson will win it within the next 4 years.

77 Years since a British man won Wimbledon
'77 The year a Brit last won a singles title at Wimbledon
7/7 The date Murray wins Wimbledon

What a needlessly negative thread on a day like today. Did anyone seriously think it would change this year? I think Laura and Heather have a very good chance of winning Grand Slams in the future. Hopefully Wimbledon will be one of them :)

The Williams sisters are reaching the end of their careers so they obviously won't be dominating as much. Laura definitely will win a Slam, not too sure about Watson though.

If Laura can control her forehand and be less flat footed, she's got a shot.

Maturity will come with age. Murray was ungainly when he started too.

Yeah forget about Sharapova, Vika, Sabine, Madison keys, Slonae Stephens and all the other countries producing world class females. Laura won't have it easy for a while or Heather while these are around.

Both need to improve massively before they can think about winning slams.

And The William Sisters have not dominated, when was the last time Venus was a threat?

There is more to tennis them then. Sharapova, Vika,Sabine, Radwanska, etc will be the ones to beat anyways.
