I've never seen a porn addiction storyline come up. Would be interesting to see how it is played out. I'd like to see one where a lost kid appears in a soap and becomes a regular and has no family but no one is aware until after.

Porn addiction would be a good plot. Anymore ideas? Some dark, gritty storylines would be interesting. Something that might happen on Hollyoaks Later maybe...

Child abduction and murder, I don't think has been tackled, but you never know, Brookside seems to have tackled everything. When I pitched my own soap opera every big thing I thought of, seemed to have been included in Brookside's stint. I thought of (examples); having a petrol station in a soap and a gang attacking the houses. Haha.

But it would add more realism if a child of a regular (let's say Belle off Emmerdale for instance) was seen chatting online to a stranger, then leaving the Dingle house one day and not returning, and then a few years later her body is discovered. Very realistic but sad at the same time. :(

A story like this was actually done on Fair City (an Irish Soap) but not with a child. Leo's wife Lana just dissappeared. Her last scene was her talking to him on the phone while she was shopping and she was never seen again. She went missing in the summer of 2007 and her body was found in the autumn of 2008 so she was missing for over a year

    Polygamy.

I personally think that's a fantastic idea. I mean, AJ's a comedy character and doesn't have a storyline. EE could keep him as a comedy character and give him a decent storyline, by having it revealed he has two or more wives and they all turn up to confront him on the Square, as he abandoned them in Pakistan.

A few could stick around to, and re-build The Masood/Ahmed family.

    :D

On EE? Don't think so. The exes of the soap want the males to be 'macho' and appealing to the ladies in the soap. I think they're worried fans will lose interest due to their status but that storyline would be interesting, especially with Phil or Michael. I don't know about the other soaps. I know there is mainly female eating disorder storylines like on Hollyoaks with Hannah's anorexia.

There was a bigamy story line in Corrie years ago. Emily Bishop married a man who was already married to someone else.

How about Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy? It will be different from a 'normal' child abuse storyline. Or maybe just Munchausen Syndrome storyline, but that would have to be done so people don't confuse it with self harming so maybe a self harming storyline at the same time so people can see the difference.

Done with Chrissie Costello in 'Family Affairs'. Great storyline it was too.

There was a very hasty and poorly-put together male eating disorder storyline on Neighbours. To be honest, it doesn't deserve to count, and I would love to see it explored properly in a decent soap. It's the sort of think Hollyoaks would have done well; I say would have as I stopped watching about three years ago so I can't judge what it would do now.

Have they ever done a child abuse storyline where the mother sexually abuses their child? Not the cheeriest of ideas, admittedly!

Again, far from a cheery one, but that syndrome where someone meets up with a parent/sibling they never knew growing up and is attracted to them?

Rhys and Beth in Hollyoaks kind of did this - they were half siblings and met each other not knowing this.

Emmerdale have done that. Two people who were half brother/sister (I don't remember their names) went out with each other and were horrified when they found out.

Brookside did child murder (Barry Grant killed Sue Sullivan and her child). River City's just done a child abduction storyline, where there was a strong suggestion that the child had been killed, but he was found alive.

Is that wishful thinking with Belle?;)
