Bored...Day 1

Hello all,

I fell down my staircase yesterday and after a trip to A&E I was told I have broken my 3rd and 4th Metacarpal bones in my hand. I have a cast on for six weeks, my job involves a lot of driving so I off work for the duration.

This is the end of day one and I am already bored

I even tried doing the washing up but two broken glasses later I had to admit defeat. (The missus is gonna go ape!)

Any suggestions for a bored one armed bandit most welcome.

Poor you! I can understand how bored you must feel. Can't you read a good book or get some DVD's you like? Basically, you've got a bit of time to have a rest, so make the most of it. Have a nosy about online, that always beats boredom - play some online games or come on here

I have been reading these forums for a while now and it does seem a friendly place, seems now I have the perfect excuse to get more involved.

Hope you aren't in too much pain.

Lots of books is what you need. Have you thought of joining a book swapping club, such as Read it Swap it.

Aaaaw, I know how you feel. I fell down the stairs about 5 years ago (my own stupid fault), grabbed the banister to stop myself (BIG mistake) and broke the bone at the top of my arm, just under the shoulder...what is that bone called?

Anyway, my employer wasn't exactly sympathetic and wouldn't hear of me staying off, I had to drive with a broken arm and no cast (the entire accident was a disaster actually, the location of the break meant a cast wouldn't help). I was ok in a straight line but corners and parking were a nightmare.

However, had I been allowed time off I would have pottered about my house to my hearts content, read books or surfed the net.

Couldn't walk the dogs as it was partly their fault I fell...!
