Selma. It was brilliant and woefully ignored by the academy imo.
Badly handled awards campaign by the studio by all accounts.

The Cabin In The Woods (again)

Quite possibly my favourite horror (horror/comedy) of recent years.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv0WlHbBhdc

If I did one of these then it might well appear on the list.

    Dirty Mary Crazy Larry

Classic amoral 70s wheelspinner. A bit dated but still entertaining and the chase sequences are terrific. Just the sort of thing Quentin Tarantino faps himself senseless over - a mental picture which could hinder enjoyment. 7/10

    Interstellar

2nd viewing and matters don't improve. Contrived, messy, plodding then rushed. The overall impression is of a director out of his depth, unable to spin his components into a cohesive whole. 4/10

War Horse [2011]. Director: Steven Spielberg
    7/10

Episodic equine drama, the scenes on the Somme being the best bits.
    .

7 out of 10 is very generous. 3 max for me. Lame and predictable, forced and ham-fisted, subtle as a sledgehammer tear-jerking by numbers garbage and poor even by Spielberg's very low standards. Dreadful CGI doesn't help either. I was dragged along, very much against my better judgement, to watch it at the cinema. The only mildly entertaining bit was the big, melodramatic finale (I'm guessing that was Spielberg's intention anyway) when the vet asks for the sponge and the audience burst out laughing.

If you want to watch this sort of thing done well have a look at Caroline Thompson's excellent 1994 remake of Black Beauty.

two lads find this ''deadgirl'' in this old deserted hospital , chained up to a bed..they have sex with her, and she isn't all she seems.
.The ending was quite predictable and boring :D

Thanks for this - looks good.

There's another one, but I cant remember the name of it. A few couples (one with a small baby) go out on a boat, jump in the sea and cant get back up as they haven't lowered the ladder. Good film.

When A Man Loves A Woman- 1994- 3 stars. It stars Meg Ryan as an alcoholic and Andy Garcia as the husband trying to sort things out. Very schmaltzy but its well acted. Could do with being a little grittier though. It's no Trainspotting. Put it that way
