This programme has been a wake up call for me and has shown me that the way forward is to go back to basics.

1. Cook meals from scratch using fresh ingedients.
2. Limit any processed food intake.
3. Limit fizzy drinks, stick to water, tea, coffee, milk.
4. Eat less - watch portion sizes.
5. Limit snacking - it isn't necessary anyway.

In other words, just return to the past, when the above was normal anyway and obesity was rare.

I am not saying this will be easy but ultimately I will begin to lose the extra weight I am carrying, without having to diet.

In addition, women in the past spent a lot more time and effort doing housework without all the labour-saving devices we now have to 'help' us. Perhaps a daily window cleaning workout would be a good idea! Would solve those 'bingo' wing problems wouldn't it?

I'm doing the opposite. I've been on a diet and not feeling too great so this weekend i'm having a full binge with McDs, pizzas, kebabs and burgers.

May be after that i'll feel like getting back into the groove of cooking my meals from scratch again.

i much prefer to prepare my own food and i often experiment with different flavours, food prices are going up and some 'healther' foods are expensive yet there is so much healthy food that is still cheap ie fruit, veg, beans, lentils, rice etc...i eat more veggie stuff than i do meat though i do like ham and chicken; i try and limit my red meat to once a week and i love veggies and salad

obesity has become pandemic i think; its v noticeable where i live, there are many fast food outlets and the 'junk food' is always on special offer at my local supermarket, if i lived on junk my grocery bills would be considerably less but i refuse to eat it..i'd sooner eat and prepare fresh food

i can see why fast food is so appealing, and it doesnt help with all the special offers and low prices in the shops., yet when i see the prices of macdonalds, kfc and takeaways, they are not cheap!!

i honestly dont know what the answer is anymore..perhaps if the NHS refused to fund so many bariatric procedures and forced people to take responsibility... might be a start although there would probably be even more hospital admissions with weight related problems and a surge in type 2 diabetes and other obesity related illnesses but something has to change.
