They even managed to script it into the soap :D
Chris Tate supposedly helped her to make the single and they played it on a jukebox in a pub. lol

Am I right in thinking Natalie Imbruglia was in one of the Ozzy soaps?

Natalie played Beth Brennan/Willis in Neighbours :)

Other ex-Neighbours I can think of are

Craig McLachlan (Henry Ramsey) and his band Check 1-2 had a hit with Mona

    Jason Donovan of course :D

Ringworm is squawking now too I believe.

    In other soaps

Sean McGuire who played Aiden Brosnan in EE had a few singles out following his EE exit.

Actually it's probably quicker to name who hasn't had a single out than has lol.

The actress who played Frank Butchers daugher (Diane) had a record out - a 60s cover I think - it bombed.

Also Denise Welch (pre-Corrie) had a cover of Dusty's you don't have to say you love me ..... out about 1995.

Diane from EE (Sophie Lawrence) covered the Donna Summer (60s-style) tune, Love's Unkind...she certainly managed to butcher it:D

Diane Butcher had a hit with a cover of Donna Summer's record Love's Unkind. I bought that! :o:o:o

Here's a few more that I don;t think have been said in this thread:

Rick Springfield (General Hospital) - Jessie's Girl
Samatha Janus/Womack (Eastenders)- Message to your Heart (Eurovision entry)
Jennifer Ellison (Brookside) - Bye Bye Boy
Will Mellor (Hollyoaks) - When I need you
Bill Tarmey (Coronation Street) - One Voice

I love this thread and bad that I have some of these

Jason Donovans To many broken Hearts in the world is the first cd I ever bought

In a round about way I have Shane Ritchie and Tamsin outhwaite singing on a Grease the musical Album.

I had Michelle Gayles cd. She was good.

I had not only Nick Berry Every Loser wins classic :D
but a double single tape of him singing Heartbeat and the B side is On The Telephone telling lines. I use to play it alot

I had Craig Mclauglins Hey Mona.

The best thing about Will Mellors 'When I need you' that I remember was he used to 'attempt' to sing it for about a year in Hollyoaks for Dawn his girlfriend who died. He used to get through two lines of it before running of claming 'I can't do it' That is how he got a hit record with it. People just wanted him to get through the bloody song so we wouldn't have to here the Hollyoaks annoying band have to come in with the only song they had

    '1 and 1 makes 3 to me, 1 and 1 makes 3.

Not only does that make no sense as a lyric but they sang it nearly every episode for months.

Oh and my parents owned the Eastenders tape with aload of the original cast singing London cockney songs. Knees up mother brown and the like. We still have it somewhere.

Sue Nicholls (Audrey in Corrie) had a chart single out when she was in Crossroads as Marilyn the waitress in the 1960s. I can't think of the title.

I think good ol' little 'Crossroads' holds the record for releasing records :-
Sue Nicholls ....."Where Will You Be?" (as Marilyn Gates)
Stephanie De Sykes....."Born With a Smile on my face" &
"We'll Find Our Day" (as Holly Brown)
Kate Robbins...."More Than in Love" (as Kate Loring)
Simon May........."Summer of My Life" (used as incidental music and theme for a while)
Paul Henry........"Benny's Theme" (Benny, say no more!)
Noele Gordon...."Goodbye" plus an album (Meg Richardson)
Paul McCartney... "Crossroads" - featured on Venus & Mars.
Shona Lindsay...."Goodbye" (XROADS theme) (The Grice girl)
The Crossroads Cast.....(An Lp featuring a good old Singalong session and a recording og Meg's wedding)

There was also another one featuring the "Venice Theme" - but I cannot remember the composers name!

Not bad really, for a cheap little soap in its day! :D

Probably mentioned already but here's a few others:

Mike Read - the Ugly Duckling.
Zoe and Alana from River City who did a Eurovision heat a few years back to be UK entry in ESC?
Davy Jones (Corrie)- loads of hits with the Monkees
Nick Tlisley (Adam Rickett) - I Breathe Again

I am sure Norman Wisdom (Corrie) has had a few songs - Don't Laugh at Me Cos I'm a Fool?

Peter Kay - Amarillo and other CR hits

Natalie Anderson (Alicia in Emmerdale) appeared on the first Pop Idol, in the same group as Will Young no less, and narrowly missed the final 10. She released an album a few years ago, and appeared in the musical Wicked until March of this year. :) She was excellent when I saw that too! :)
